Shiva Shakthi Shivaraman

Graduate biotechnologist seeking to build precision regenerative and stem cell therapeutics for patients with age-related disfunctioning disorders to enhance quality of life. Under Dr. Catherine Berry's supervision, I undertook my master's thesis research on the regenerative properties of Extracellular vesicles produced from MSCs at the University of Glasgow.

My Research Interests

Our research group studies about understanding connective tissue disorders that affect the musculoskeletal system to identify key players in age-related decline in physiological functions and to identify treatment targets for age-related disorders. We are investigating the increasing pathophysiological pathways and regeneration capabilities of collagen VI-related myopathies in ageing using zebrafish, an emerging model for the study of human diseases. We intend to elucidate the pathophysiological processes that underlie the development of the disease.
