2nd annual meeting of the CHANGE MSCA DN project in Krakow

We had a great 2nd Annual Meeting of the CHANGE project last month (19th-21st Feb 2025)!

We spent very productive 3 days talking about science, seeing the amazing progress that our DCs have made in their second year, and networking.

In our Advanced Research Lecture Series we heard a great guest lecture by Prof Józef Dulak from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków entitled "Beyond dystrophin: novel targets for treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy". We have also had several training sessions: in biogerontology and detection of senescence (by Prof Johannes Grillari from Evercyte), in ex vivo techniques and bioreactors (by Dr Linda Kock from Lifetec), in preclinical imaging (by Dr Marta Fabian from the University of Pavia) and in open science (by Dr Kasia Piróg from Newcastle University).

The meeting was mostly dedicated to the presentations by our DCs, who have made great progress in their projects and completed many productive secondments. They have made great friends in their network and beyond, acquired new skills and learnt many new techniques. They also presented at national and international conferences, engaged with patient organisations and general public groups, and contributed to published book chapters, invited review publications, and original research papers..

We are extremely proud of our DCs and their achievements, and we can’t wait to see what the final year brings!
